Tuesday, September 11, 2012. This has been an odd year in the prairie. The plants were shorter than usual but the colors more intense. The drought, followed by rain then more drought caused the coreopsis to bloom twice. We have some New England Asters on the hill. And the heath asters above them are spreading nicely.
